Basic Info

Stephane Brocard, son of famed Chablis winemaker, Jean-Marc Brocard, started in 2007 by founding the Closerie des Alisiers property in Chablis, then moved deeper into the Côtes d’Or. His philosophy throughout: Craft wines of purity, fruit and freshness; authentic, with the utmost respect for the land and the environment; highlighting the specific terroirs for each product. An intimate knowledge of Burgundy and a hankering to do his own thing led him to set up a boutique négociant business contracting in small parcels of carefully selected grapes, as well as investing in a precious plot of Pommard, for which he has high aspirations. Stéphane works the vignerons hard in order to have organic farming practices and what finished wine he is purchasing is held to the highest standards being as minimally minipulated as possible. He believes that ultimately wine should be consumed often and when prices reach the Burgundy market that is so often seen today, his wines appear to be even that much more desireable. His father's domaine always produced wines that far exceeded the price.
