RUSSIZ SUPERIORE is located in Capriva del Friuli, in the heart of Collio. Its name comes from its position that rises above the surrounding hills. The history of "RUSSIZ SUPERIORE", property of Marco Felluga since the 60's, is rich of names, dates and anecdotes that blur in the mist of time, but take up a fairly distinct profile from as early as 1273 onwards, when Raimondo della Torre, Patriarch of Friuli, settled in these lands and whose descendents were the first owners of Russiz. Over the course of time, various noble families succeeded one another, but the main element, which has always stood out and characterized the name of "RUSSIZ SUPERIORE", is the wine. At the present time, the estate extends over 100 hectares, of which fifty are planted to vineyards. The attention is on intensely flavored, small production wines that maximize the intensity of the grapes as well as highlighting local identity of the Collio and the very special area of Capriva.
