Li Veli

Press

  • "Li Veli is one of the most exciting wineries to come on the scene in the last few years. The Falvo family has done a great job ratcheting up the quality following their sale of Avignonesi in Montepulciano. As has been the case since Li Veli was founded, many of the gems in this range are found at the more modest price points." (Wine Advocate)

Basic Info

In 1999, the Falvo family bought a 128-acre property in Salento peninsula, also known as the 'heel of Italy', situated in the Southern-East part of Italy. Their purchase gave new life to a project of winery born in the XIX century: the original structure of Masseria Li Veli had already been established as a cellar at the time by Marquis Antonio de Viti de Marco, an internationally known Italian economist and university professor, Radical Party Deputy of the Reign of Italy, whose ambitious project was to transform the Masseria into a model cellar for the entire South of Italy. ΒΆ From 2005 all the grapes of Li Veli's vineyards are produced from organic certified farming. In addition, all the rest of the workings in the cellar are made with a special care for environment, according to international standard control for and Environmental Management System ISO 14001.
