Basic Info
After taking over his father’s five acres of vineyards in Marsannay-la-Côte, Charles Audoin and wife Marie-Françoise developed the estate through the restoration and purchase of new lots, and today they own almost 35 acres of vineyards. Laid out in hills, the vines are over 45 years of age on average, and enjoy a good south-eastern orientation. Joined by their son Cyril in 2000 after his apprenticeship in various vineyards all over the world, the Audoins’ philosophy is to express the uniqueness of the Marsannay soils, which varies depending on the specific locality. The Audoins focus on the quality of the wines rather than the quantity. No intensive extraction there, as the onus is on the preservation of the wines’ individuality. A moderate yield is preferred so as to encourage a natural concentration, in harmony with the soils.
