Basic Info

Made from a family recipe that has been kept a secret by the Orendain family since 1924. Monte Azul, named after the unmistakable color of the blue agave fields in the Tequila Valley of Jalisco, Mexico. This tequila is made from 100% Agave Tequilana Azul Weber from the Tequila Valley. Agaves are individually harvested by hand upon reaching full maturity. On average, the blue agave is 9 years old ensuring they meet the strict standard for Monte Azul. The agaves are slow-cooked in Auto-claves for 18 hours, then shredded in a roller mill. The fermentation process takes place over several days using slow, temperature-controlled vats, then double distilled.
