Failla pinotnoir keefer

Pinot Noir, Keefer Ranch 2015

Failla

Keefer Ranch Vineyard was planted in 1988 by Marcy Keefer and her husband Robert, a retired doctor who took night classes on grape farming before diving into the deep end and establishing the site. Eleven years later, a handshake deal with a certain Pittsburgher would create Failla's first vineyard-designate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Now, much to our delight, Failla Wines and Keefer Ranch Vineyard seem to be inexorably entwined.

Reviews

  • "93 points. One of the highlights in this range, Failla's 2015 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch is very pretty. Gracious, floral and lifted, the 2015 shows the more refined personality of this Russian River site. The decision to pick on the early side resulted in an especially tense, nervous style for both the appellation and vintage, with plenty of bright, saline notes that punctuate the fruit. Drinking window: 2019 - 2027." (vinous)
