Birichino zinfandel stgeorges

Zinfandel, St. Georges 2015

Birichino

Own rooted, ninety-four year-old vine Zinfandel from a cool spot up against the Santa Cruz Mountains. Native ferment, neutral barrel, unfiltered. Indeed, the 2015 closely echoes the 2013 in many ways, self-evidently California Zinfandel – bright, briary and sappy – though with a quality approaching restraint which we hope is a hallmark of our marque.

Reviews

  • "90 points. Fresh and broad aromas of strawberry and red currant meet with peppercorns and crushed oregano on the nose of this bottling of old-vine Zin from southern Santa Clara County. It's a lighter style on the palate, with bright red plums, crushed river rock and a good helping of herb flavors." (Wine Enthusiast)
