Shafer Vineyards

“From the moment you pull the cork on this vintage rich, tantalizing aromas fill the air with blackberry, black licorice, spice, rose petal, and cinnamon, leading to a lush, full-bodied wine offering juicy flavors of black and red plum, summer berries, pie crust, baked rhubarb, cinnamon, and warm briar jam in a seamless package of ripe, welcoming tannins and a long, vibrant finish.” — Shafer winemaker Elias Fernandez

Reviews

  • "93 points. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five offers up scents of lavender, cloves, menthol, licorice, spice and graphite. Savory, delineated and tightly wound, the 2014 is a picture perfect example of the vintage. Winemaker Elias Fernandez adds that the drought was more severe in 2014 than it was in 2013. This is another strong showing from Shafer." (vinous)
  • "91 points. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five shows beautiful purity, not the weight, profound depth and structure of the 2013, but it is still medium to full-bodied, elegant, graceful and a classic example of the Stags Leap appellation. Drink it over the next 15+ years." (Wine Advocate)
