Grenache 2012

LATTA Wines

A vibrant deep ruby-colored wine, it exhibits mineral, underbrush, garrigue, bright cherry and raspberry aromatics. Intense, vibrant, and lingering on the palate, our Grenache exudes a rich sanguine quality with fine-grained sweet tannins. Great care is taken in the vineyard to produce the finest fruit possible. Many thinning passes and removal of the shoulders of the cluster to concentrate the full expression of Upland Vineyard.

Reviews

  • "94 points. Editors' Choice. Top 100 of 2015: #87! This wine arrests the senses with dazzlingly pure aromas of dark raspberries, cherries, clove, mineral and spice. Flavors are intense, layered, and rich without sacrificing one iota of balance. The plush mouthfeel and long finish only add to the enjoyment and sensory experience." (Wine Enthusiast)
  • "93 points. The Upland Vineyard has gained a sterling reputation in Washington for Grenache. This fantastic Grenache wine opens with aromatics of rose petals, smoked pork shoulder, lavender, red cherry, red raspberry and pomegranate seed. These characteristics continue on the palate as this offers flavors of red cherry, red raspberry and sagebrush elements. This is smooth and polished wine that will cellar beautifully for at least another decade. (Best 2017-2027)." (International Wine Report)
