Viognier 2016

K Vintners

All that you would want in a Viognier. A beautiful mouthful of Meyer lemon, beeswax, honeysuckle and a touch of savory spice with an impression of richness. Yet it stays vibrant all the way through the long satisfying finish. Exotic and fantastic

Reviews

  • "91 points. Bright yellow-gold. Inviting spicy lift to the aromas and flavors of peach, white plum, apricot, smoke and flowers. A distinctly juicy, Condrieu-style Viognier with lovely acidity and supporting structure. Brennon Leighton predicts that this wine will taste nearly the same after five years. (The 2015 edition, which I tasted after it had been open for 12 hours, displayed terrific cut and lemony freshness, not to mention a very long finish.) It's quite possible that I am underestimating the potential aging curve of this wine." (vinous)
  • "91 points. The 2016 Art Den Hoed Vineyard Viognier was partially fermented in concrete and neutral oak prior to bottling. This wine begins with bright aromatics of lychee, green apple and poached pear, The palate is lithe showcasing vanilla, Key lime and green apple flavors. This remains well balanced and focused through the finish. (Best 2017-2022)." (International Wine Report)
