Dumol pinotnoir rrv

Pinot Noir, "Connor" 2014

DuMOL

Brilliant coastal pinot expression. Bing cherry, strawberry top, black pepper, pine needle and freshly-turned soil. Sweet and supple red fruit entry. Lithe, delicate and transparent palate. Darkens to blueberry. Succulent, zesty and fresh with wonderful clarity of flavor. Velvety mouthfeel then vibrant red apple skin rhubarb finish. Lingering and energetic. A beautifully balanced wine with great purity of coastal fruit and nuanced soil/leaf notes built on a long sleek frame.

Reviews

  • "92 points. This intense, very well-crafted wine hits all of the varietal marks smartly and shows a great sense of polish and reserve as it does. It is rich and fully ripe, but it is very deep and continuous fruit rather than ripeness that is its dominant theme, and it is showing the first signs of fine Pinot Noir's specifically velvety texture. While already involving and offering plenty to please in the near term, it is beautifully composed and eminently ageworthy stuff that will only gain in complexity and beauty for at least another five or six years, and its high recommendation comes without reservations." • "92 points. The 2014 Pinot Noir Connor Joy Road Vineyard is overt, fruity and generous. Sweet red berry, flowers, mint and chalk are all pushed forward in a delicate, mid-weight wine with expressive fruit and plenty of near and medium-term appeal. Sweet, perfumed notes add lift on the finish." (vinous)
