Garnacha, "El Coll" 2012

Pieza

Deep cherry red with violet touches Nose: Intense and complex aroma with generous ripe red fruits, blackberries, red currants and violets. There are also balsamic ar omas, soft smoke and traces of chocolate coming from a brief stay on the lees. Full bodied and meaty, with prominent ripe tannins of great quality. Balanced with slight acidity and freshness, extremely long and pleasant.

Reviews

  • "90 points. The 2012 Pieza El Coll is mainly Garnacha with some Cariñena and Monastrell which seem to give the wine some different character with a nice rusticity, earthy notes and some aromas of tree bark, balsam and a mixture of red and black berries. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, strong balsamic flavors and a nice finish. Pleasant, if not typical, better with food. 10,000 bottles produced." (Robert Parker)
