Bourgogne Rouge 2014

Domaine Charles Audoin

All Côtes de Nuits fruit (Audoin is located in Marsannay, near the northern tip of Côte d’or/Nuits). This is pleasantly, and frankly surprisingly, fruity and delicious while keeping its Burgundy character. Get red currant jelly, truffle, ripe raspberries, black tea and dried thyme/marjoram. Drinking great now. What a value!

Reviews

  • "A fresh, cool and pure nose offers up notes of various red berries along with touches of earth and underbrush. There is fine intensity and energy to the supple and delicious flavors that culminate in a refreshing finish that delivers sneaky good length. Domaine Charles Audoin was founded in 1972 with only 2 ha of vines that have now been augmented bit by bit to its present size of 12 ha. Charles' son Cyril joined his father in 2000 and is now completely responsible for the vines and winemaking." (Allen Meadows, Burghound)
