Eveningland eola

Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills 2013

Evening Land Vineyards

Showing approachable red fruits, this wine has a lush and soft mouthfeel that offers immediate pleasure. A universally pleasing, delicious pinot noir. We have some great and talented neighbors in the Eola-Amity Hills. Our only bottling in this release to include non-estate fruit, this Pinot Noir is a collection from three vineyards within our AVA; young vines from Seven Springs along with Rocky Hill and Eola Springs vineyards. Our Pinot Noirs begin a natural, indigenous fermentation after a 4-5 day cold soal in our open-top oak and concrete fermenters. Twice daily, gentle punch-downs throughout the fermentation encourage soft extraction of the tannins. This wine was made with no new oak to highlight the purity of fruit and offer immediate pleasure upon release.

Reviews

  • "90 points. Light and polished, with a nubby texture underlying the transparent raspberry and peppermint flavors that pick up mineral and spice notes as the finish lingers. Drink now through 2021. 2,469 cases made." (Wine Spectator)
