Dumol pinotnoir ryan

Pinot Noir, "Ryan" 2013

DuMOL

Beautifully elegant aromatic wine, lots of spicy primary fruit, juicy and perfumed. Black cherry, plum and boysenberry then graphite, mint and tarragon complexity. Bing cherry darkens to cassis and elderberry on the fruit-driven palate. Succulent and deeply flavored. Plush mouth feel, lilting flavors span the entire length of the wine. Plum and apple skin finish with silky tannins and good acid lift. Decant for an hour in its youth and drink between 2016 and 2022.

Reviews

  • "93 points. The 2013 Pinot Noir Ryan Widdoes Vineyard is one of the more precise, delineated wines in the range this year. Brisk and chiseled to the core, the 2013 offers lovely translucence, expressive aromatics and sculpted fruit. Give the 2013 another few years in bottle." (vinous)
  • "92 points. The 2013 Pinot Noir Ryan comes from a 28-year-old Martini Pinot Noir selection that was planted in 1981 in the Widdoes Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. This wine displays greater ripeness and richness, with some notes of fresh mushrooms intermixed with blackcurrant and black cherry. It is the ripest and most concentrated of the Pinot Noirs and long. Drink it over the next 7-8 years." (Wine Advocate)
