Dumol chardonnay chloe

Chardonnay, "Chloe" 2013

DuMOL

Combines typical chloe richness with bright elegance. Pale straw color. Intense white flowers, lime leaf and zesty grapefruit notes then richer honeydew melon, apple pie, almond paste and honeysuckle. Great balance, linear and focused. Pear and lemon curd, citrus oil and savory fennel with lilting floral notes. Deeply layered palate with an orange marmalade core but subtle in its delivery. Expands beautifully, rising saline finish. Drink between 2015 and 2020.

Reviews

  • "96 points. The 2013 Chardonnay Chloe, which comes from two great vineyard sources, the Ritchie and Lorenzo, was treated similarly in terms of its aging 12 months on its lees, then four months in tank. Good acidity buttresses a relatively full-throttle, big, rich, honeyed wine, with plenty of apple blossom, orange marmalade, and pineapple notes. There is some underlying minerality as well. This should also drink well for at least a decade." (Wine Advocate)
  • "95 points. The 2013 Chardonnay Chloe Ritchie-Lorenzo is one of the most expressive wines in this lineup today. Open-knit aromatics meld into a core of apricot jam, almonds, chamomile and white flowers. Succulent and creamy throughout, the 2013 has a real sense of old-vine gravitas and overall intensity. The Chloe was so unexpressive last year. Today, it is stellar." (vinous)
