Dumol chardonnay rrv

Chardonnay, Russian River Valley 2013

DuMOL

Focused, piercing aromas of pear, lemon zest and cut grass with a flinty, chalky mineral edge. Crisp apple and lime juice on the palate broadens to ripe melon and white peach. Linear entry expands to layers of ripe stone fruits, almond and nutmeg. Electric acidity brings focus and balance to the persistent smoky finish. Serve at no cooler than 55 degrees to allow the natural texture to come forth.

Reviews

  • "91 points. DuMol produces five separate Chardonnays, with their generic cuvée, the 2013 Chardonnay Russian River basically a blend of some terrific terroirs including their own estate vineyard as well as three highly regarded single vineyards for Chardonnay – Heintz, Lorenzo and Ritchie. The clonal material here is Clone 4, Mt. Eden and Wente. The wine displays beautiful honeysuckle and notes of orange blossom in a fruit-forward, medium to full-bodied style. It was aged 11 months in oak and then moved to tank for 3-4 months prior to bottling. This beautiful Chardonnay should drink nicely for 5-7 years." (Wine Advocate)
  • "90 points. The 2013 Chardonnay (Russian River Valley) is soft and understated, with lovely depth, texture and resonance. Already quite expressive, the 2013 can be enjoyed today or cellared for at least a handful of years. Orchard fruit, white flowers and mint are all given an extra kick of brightness by the acidity of the vintage." (vinous)
