Dandelion shiraz

Shiraz, "Lionheart of the Barossa" 2014

Dandelion Vineyards

Lifted blue fruits, blood plum, ripe blackberries and Christmas pudding-like spice flow out of the glass with spicy pepper, and hints of bramble and dark chocolate. Generous mouth filling sweet blackberry, raspberry and plums flavors cover the palate with lashings of sweet spice. Firm but fine tannins and dark chocolaty nuances continue throughout the lengthy palate with youthful finish.

Reviews

  • "91 points. Bright purple. Smoke- and pepper-accented dark berry and cherry pit aromas pick up suggestions of mocha, licorice, violet and cola with aeration. Sweet and expansive in the mouth, offering intense black and blue fruit flavors that combine richness and vivacity with a sure hand. Shows excellent clarity and spicy lift on the finish, which features supple tannins and an emphatic echo of sweet blue fruit and candied flowers." (vinous)
