Eveningland sevensprings

Pinot Noir, Seven Springs Vineyard 2012

Evening Land Vineyards

This wine is a deep garnet in color with a ruby edge. The nose is dominated with freshly picked blackberries, toasted almonds, baking spice and hints of citrus. The palate is pleasantly balanced, shows soft tannins and notes of freshly made grenadine. The finish is endless and expresses beautiful minerality, a lingering acidity, and perseverant fruit that all undeniably and characteristically come from the Seven Springs Estate.

Reviews

  • "96 points. Sleek and silky, brimming with raspberry, blackberry, pear and licorice flavors that come together seamlessly on the long, polished finish. This has depth and presence. Drink now through 2022. 3,149 cases made." (Wine Spectator)
  • "92 points. The 2012 Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard comes from rocky and shallow soils planted on old Pommard clone. There were twice daily punch-downs aged in 30% new French oak barrels for 16 months. The bouquet is very refined on the nose with black plum, violet and cold wet stone. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, a little more masculine at first, tightly wound with a nicely poised finish. It is a little reticent at the moment but it has the tension and that sense of energy to suggest long-term aging." (Wine Advocate)
