Red Blend, Yakima Valley 2012

Owen Roe

This signature Yakima Valley Red Wine is a unique blend of the varietals we feel best represent each vintage. Chosen from several vineyards in the Yakima Valley, with a medium ruby hue that leads to aromas of raspberry, candied cherry, pink peppercorn, sage and mulling spices. The palate is brimming with ripe red plum and complex notes of black tea, savory herbs, yellow bell pepper and cinnamon. The 2012 vintage leaves a sweet and lingering finish with firm tannins.

Reviews

  • "92 points. This blend of Merlot (36%), Cabernet Franc (35%), Cabernet Sauvignon (27%) and Malbec is somewhat light in color with notes of dried herbs, black currant, flowers and barrel spices. The blackberry and cherry flavors are concentrated, sweet, rich and focused without carrying excess alcoholic weight. Firm tannins provide the frame." (Wine Enthusiast)
