Pinot Noir, Yates Conwell Vineyard 2012

Sineann

We figured this vineyard would do good things, noting its location and management. Imagine our surprise and delight to have the first wine, the 2007, off this vineyard be so good and then to follow it with a beautiful 2008, then a beautiful 2009, then a gorgeous 2010, then the 2011. Mind you, strict selection went into the barrels chosen for the 2012 Yates Conwill Pinot - we used every single one of them - they were all dynamite! We’ll continue to enjoy watching this vineyard get better and better over the years.

Reviews

  • "94 points. Yates Conwill is next to the Resonance vineyard, which was just sold to Burgundy’s Louis Jadot. This vineyard is really reaching its prime, showing lovely ripe flavors of raspberry, red plum and sweet cherry. Generous acidity keeps the wine in proportion and leads through a generous mid-palate with highlights of black tea and dried herb. Drink now and over the next 10 years." (Wine Enthusiast)
  • "91 points. Smooth and round, pulsing with coffee and mineral accents around a core of blackberry and currant flavors, coming together harmoniously on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 700 cases made." (Wine Spectator)
