Basic Info

The Sobrino estate sits on a plot of land, with a calcareous and clayey soil. They cultivate Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto vines. The elevation of the vineyard at the Sobrino Estate, vary from 820 to 1200 feet above sea level. Every acre is cultivated with a very low number of vines. Edoardo "Edo" Sobrino started this estate in 1999. He owns about 22 acres of vines and produces a whopping 1,650 cases, which means a mere one ton per acre average. Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo vineyards are in Diano D'Alba, while the Nebbiolo for Barolo is in Monvigliero cru close to Verduno. All of the wines are made as natural as possible with minimal added sulfites, organically farmed vineyards and all fermentations are done without inoculation. Edo took his love for the wines of Roberto Voerzio for inspiration and utilized his unique terroir to shine through.
